My Story

I was personally trained by Drs. John and Julie Gottman at their Seattle Relationship Institute. I regularly lead the “Art and Science of Love” weekend workshop for couples and the Level 1, 2, & 3 Gottman Method trainings for clinicians. I am among a select few whom John and Julie has invited to assist with private retreats in their home on Orcas Island, Washington. I am one of only 25 Advanced Clinical Trainers worldwide, designated by the Gottman Institute, and serve as a Consultant for those wishing to become certified in the Gottman Method.

My Approach

Based in Louisville, KY, I am the only Gottman Certified Relationship Therapist between the cities of Nashville and Cincinnati. This method of therapy is solution-focused and incredibly hope-giving in its application.

This method is based on the research of Drs. John and Julie Gottman that began in the 1970s and continues to this day. The Gottman Method focuses on what makes marriages succeed or fail and emphasizes a nuts and bolts approach to improving the relationship of the clients. By providing specific tools to help deepen friendship and intimacy in the relationship, I work with couples to help grow an appreciation of the relationship’s strengths and to gently navigate through vulnerabilities.
